Relining 200m of 900 x 650 mm oviform red brick culvert in Dun Laoghaire town centre.
This egg-shaped culvert runs below the main road in Dun Laoghaire town centre, with a large number of services and lateral connections.
Major redevelopment of the area had been carried out and the culvert had been breached in a number of locations. There were several collapses, brick and mortar loss and a number of redundant connections that needed to be blocked off.
The Environmental Techniques man-entry rehabilitation system was chosen because of its ability to overcome the irregularities in shape and direction of this culvert.
This proved to be the most effective method to rehabilitate the culvert, as excavation would have resulted in road closure and serious disruption to the busy commercial centre
